How often is the Google algorithm changed?
This is very difficult to say with certainty, but Google has really been stepping up their efforts in the last months with Panda and Penguin.

No one can predict when the next update will come. It depends on Google and their team to refrain search results whenever they feel that spammers are benefiting through the loopholes in their algorithms. Well, Google team works consistently to keep the spammers away and provide the users with the authentic results only.
