PageRank of the pages from which links are gained can be only one factor considered by Google when it comes to having ranks and web traffic. You can find a lot of low PR websites which perform much better than their high PR competitors because of the relevant links they have as well as finer contents which are present on their pages. Instead of focusing on PR that as mentioned is one factor, attempt to gather high quality links for your website, the more relevant they are, the better.
