Facebook is trying to give verified profile as twitter does, so the possibility of creating fake profiles can be minimized.

There are so many fake profiles on the facebook you can't imagine.

Yes, several times already, but my profiles are viewable by my close friends only, so I am secure.

I'm just curious- What do you mean by "ripped off"? I know there's plenty of fake Facebook profiles out there, but what exactly are they doing?
