Your site design is fine. However, you must add more fresh or unique content if you want your site to rank on search engines and then I suggest you to start monetizing your site after you gather a lot of traffic.

It's a nice start-up with you but you have to take lots of effort to make it popular and build descent traffic. Just redesign your blog as your navigational structure are not good and you have to change your home page look and feel to acquire it a professional look.
