Lower the better. Try to improve the content on your site. Check out your competitors, and check out their bounce rate, since bounce rate can be different from keyword to keyword. Ideal time for the bounce rate..? Longer time spent on the site is better, of course! Just google the term and check out some articles. There are loads of them.

Bounce rate is the percentage of single-page visits in which the person left your site from the entrance (landing) page. A high bounce rate suggests that more and more visitors are finding your website slow, irrelevant or unappealing.
You may track the bounce rate of your website using Google Analytics. The ideal bounce rate would obviously be 0% but in more realistic terms, if it is less than 40%, you need not worry. Anything above that should be an alarm.

Bounce Rate show your visitor behaviour for your site's individual page of your site. IT is calculated how long visitor stay on your page. If the visitor stay for while the bounce rate will be high and if the visitor stay for a long time the bounce rates will be low and if it is low it is better for your site. Because it is simple indication to the Google what your site has for user interest.

Bounce rate is an Internet marketing term used in web traffic analysis. It represents the percentage of visitors who enter the site and "bounce" (leave the site) rather than continue viewing other pages within the same site.
This is determined by the session timeout of the analytics tracking software. B = V / E where, B = Bounce rate V = Total number of visitors viewing one page only E = Total entries to page |
