Amazon working on smartphone with Asia firms
Amazon.com is working with Asian component suppliers to test a smartphone, people familiar with the situation say
-- Mass production of the new smartphone may start late this year or early next year, the people say -- The screen of the smartphone currently being tested is larger than four inches, one person says TAIPEI--Amazon.com Inc. AMZN -2.47% is working with component suppliers in Asia to test a smartphone, people familiar with the situation said, suggesting that the Internet retail giant, which sells the Kindle Fire tablet computers, is considering broadening its mobile device offerings. |
