Mod Gives Diablo 3 Beta A Darker, Traditional Feel
When Diablo 3 was first announced many complaints arose about the more colorful art style that looked more like World of Warcraft than traditional Diablo games. Despite the complaints, Blizzard stuck to its guns and for most of us the end result has been well received.

Although I am not personally involved in the D3 beta as I did not receive a key. I have seen many videos. And the super bright areas have always bothered me as it doesn't feel traditional to the old diablo sense of the game. I have seen recently a mod that adjusts the darkness of the game to give a more brooding and sinister effect, or what ever you want to call it. In reality It just dampens down the brightness to a more pleasing (In my opinion) effect.
My question is. Upon release will this mod be outlawed? Because as third party software it may infringe upon the rules of the game or may be mistaken as some other modifier to the game that is illegal (I am not a programmer, I do not have extensive knowledge on this.) Finally if it is illegal, do you think an in-game option could be added by Blizzard via a poll of users perhaps? |
