Pogo-Sticking refers to a search engine user clicking through to a site, and going back to the search results to click through to other pages. Where bounce rate is known as the percentage of visitors who visit a single page on your website and left quickly.

Differnce between Bounce rate and pogo sticking: Bounce rate is the process of calculating the percentage of visitors who visited a specific website and drove away from the website after viewing one page whereas Pogo sticking is the process of going to the particular website from SERP

Bounce rate is the way toward computing the level of guests who went to a particular site and headed out from the site in the wake of survey one page though Pogo sticking is the way toward setting off to the specific site from SERP and finds that it's not the site he/she searching for and promptly ricochets back to the SERP.

Bounce rate: Bounce rate is defined as "the percentage of visitors who visit a single page on a website." A high bounce rate isn't always bad, as it can mean that while the visitor didn't travel deeper into a site, he did spend some time on the page and get an answer to his question. He may have bookmarked the page, or shared it on Facebook, but since he didn't read more, it constitutes a bounce.
Pogo sticking: Pogo sticking occurs when a user performs a search, clicks on a result, very quickly clicks back to the search result page, and clicks on a different result. This type of behavior is a direct result of immediate dissatisfaction in the search result, and—unlike bounce rate—pogo sticking is always a bad thing. |
