If the backlinks are on properties you own and you have webmaster tools setup you can go to crawl > Fetch as Google, enter the url and submit to index.

If it is on an external site you could try a pinging service such as Feedshark. Platforms such as Wordpress commonly ping multiple services when new content is posted.
