Cloaking is Black Hat SEO technique which is not good for your site. Cloaking is the technique in which the content presented to the search engine spider is different from that presented to user's browser.

Cloaking is one of the famous black hat SEO tactic which is used for making some content only for the search engine and user can not see it. So people can stuff the keywords there and without ruining user's experience. but now a days google spiders are so smart . that they can easily catch this and also can gives you penalty.

Those who just reply it is bad bad bad for your site, anything related to blackhat, they obviously have no idea whether something works or not because they have never personally tried it...

All they know to respond is bad bad bad. How in the world can you work, say in the adult vertical, and not use cloaking?

@newindiansongs - the purpose is already answered in many previous replies, but the question is, what do you need it FOR? Cloaking can work great for some things, but if you are just running one of those click bank affilaite sites and want eveeerything to be white hat, then forget about it, it's not for you.
