The characters limit of a Title tag is 60-70 characters.

There are no hard and fast rules regarding the length of title and meta description tags. However the recommended length of title is somewhere between 55 to 60 characters including spaces, because more than this likely to be truncated in the search results. So try to keep the title length to 55 characters including spaces for best possible rendering. You can go up to 60 characters in total, but try not to exceed this.

we can't add more than 70 char with space in title tag. Our website title tag should be fully appear in webmaster tool.

Title limit be different in different different Search Engine.

Google:
Title Limit is 50 - 60 Characters.

Yahoo:
Title Limit is 60 - 70 Characters.

Bing:
Title Limit is 65 Characters.

Ask:
Title Limit is 70 Characters.

Ideally it should be 60 characters while some SEs display up to 70 chars. The excess text is truncated anyway, but the keywords in truncated text will not help SEO, so better to keep the title under 60-65 chars.
