DO-Follow vs No-Follow Backlinks - Site Owners Forums

Hello,
As you know, Facebook and Twitter provide only no-follow backlinks but everyone says they are so important for SEO. Why is that so important if they provide no-follow backlinks?

There need to be combination of Do-follow and No-follow to get better result in SEO. Backlink from Facebook and Twitter are important because they generate a lot of traffic.

Hello Dupdis,

No follow as well as Do follow links Both are important for SEO. Facebook, Twitter are the no follow links but we can generate good traffic and sales through it when we will promote our website on this social platform then it provide social signals to search engine and it is important now going days for website promotion.

There are many sites are available like as facebook, twitter, stumbleupon etc they are do follow but we can generate good traffic, sales, social signals through it by this way we can get good promotion.

Nofollow links attributes do not allow search engine bots to follow link.That means if the website owner is linking back to you with nofollow attributes, it does not pass on link juice. Only Humans will be able to follow the links. Though some time back Google made it clear that they don’t consider nofollow link attributes but weightage of such links are really less. Even though, it’s a good practice to use Nofollow link attribute to those link, where you don’t want to pass link-juice.

Dofollow links allow google (all search engines) to follow them and reach our website. Giving us link juice and a backlink. If a webmaster is linking back to you with this link both Search Engine and Humans will be able to follow you. The best way to give someone dofollow love is allowing keyword in the anchor text. This means when you are linking to any website or page, use the targeted keyword as anchor text.
