Can anyone tell me -What is the difference between tire 1 links and tire 2 links?

The "tier" terminology isn't used in SEO circles I hang out in, but my understanding is that the sites that directly link to your site are Tier 1; the sites that link to those Tier 1 link pages are Tier 2; the links to the Tier 2 pages are Tier 3 links.
