The Google spider basically parses every webpage on the internet. It works by following links. Every link it follows, it captures the code and content of the page and stores it. Then when a user searches for something on Google, it will pull the info the spider found to be most relevant.

A spider program also called a web crawler and a web spider, is used by all the Search Engines to look for content and organize them. Google uses a program to crawls browses through the world wide web is also called a "spider".

Google spider is an automated search engine program that are responsible to crawl through webpage source and provide them with a cache certificate. These automated programs are also known as Google crawlers and bots.

A spider is a set of instructional programs, that travels the Web, locating and indexing sites for search engines. All the major search engines, such as Google and Yahoo!, use spiders to build, recreate and update their indexes.
