In computing, a cache is a component that stores data so future requests for that data can be served faster; the data stored in a cache might be the result of an earlier computation, or the duplicate of data stored elsewhere.

The higher cache a computer has, the faster it is. Even if you compare two pc with different Ghz, maybe the one with more cache will respond faster.

A cache that is built into the CPU is faster than the separate cache, running at the speed of the microprocessor itself. However, a separate cache is still roughly twice as fast as Random Access Memory (RAM). Central processing using cache is a cache used by the central processing unit of a computer to reduce the average time to access memory. The cache is a smaller, faster memory which stores copies of the data from the most frequently used main memory locations.

Each time you revisit a website, your cache is supposed to check to see if it has changed so that it can serve you the most up-to-date pages. This doesn't always work; sometimes the cache will load its older stored page instead, so you may not always get the newest version. If you clear the cache periodically, you force your browser to start over, ensuring that you are viewing updated pages and information.
