How blog comments are helpful?
Most of links in blog comments are no-follow. You can get traffic to your website, if your comments are helpful and if website you are commenting on has a large audience.

Blog Commenting is good for seo. If you commenting on your relevant website doesn't matter its do follow or no follow. the major point is its relevant site and its your give your website in good result. but it will take time.

If you are writing something unique that can be useful to other users then only your back-link will be valued. If your content is related to blog post and give extra information which is not covered by blog post, your blog comment is valuable.
