Hey! You are right. Showing in the first page of Google is very helpful for driving traffic on your site but it won't be helpful for getting high page rank. PR can only be attained by making your website informative. Even huge engagement of people on your website is also helpful to get good PR. Just like Facebook, Twitter and other popular sites you can also get high PR but for that you need to make your website attractive and informative as well so that people can get some quality info from it related to their search. yes top listing is a attractive effect in each and every fief so if you want to make a goo sort of traffic so you have to mange your website or blog post in the front page of the search engine. a lot off benefit is in this action but a hard work is required for this so keep hared work and grow up.

Page rank is a joke these days. Its one of the stupid metric created by Moz. Google don't consider it after the recent update. However, high page rank means high quality backlink..

PR1 is literally a starting point. Good SEO with sufficient link building will get you good results overtime. I believe it is best not to try taking shortcuts, which can give you results that will last (although profit harvesting takes longer)
