Both is useful facebook ads and google PPC to increase traffic on the site but google PPC is more useful than Facebook ads.

Both are better for traffic generation. But, the important thing is that how you are using them for attracting the online visitors towards your website. PPC is a search engine marketing which helps to capture the audience who are visiting Google constantly whereas Facebook is the best social media platform from where a huge number of organic traffic can be attained on a website easily.

It depends on you how you use them and what strategies you are applying to make them best for your business.

If you don't use social sites in a social way ads like ppc will seem better, however the ratios of interests on ads is dismal, going in order if you do end up using social sites well you'll find that they rank like this:

1. Twitter
2. Google+
3. ~ A Variety of Other Social Media Sites ~
4. Facebook
5. Ads
6. Facebook Ads (attract a ton of bots, not worth a penny you put into it)
