By default every link is dofollow link. So, there is one attribute NoFollow which we use to instruct search engines that do not follow links of this page.

Use of Dofollow and Nofollow attributes.

We can use DoFollow Attribute:

Relevant content,
Content that is useful for visitors,
Internal links.

Use of NoFollow Attribute Places:

Affiliate links,
Irrelevant content,
Comments,
Sponsored links,
Advertising,
Footer links.

The dofollow link will improve the SEO strength or the Page Rank. The nofollow link, in theory, will not do the same thing. This is the main difference between them.

As a result, we might assume that the nofollow link will not improve the rank for a keyword, but I do not believe this is completely true.

Links to ur site in whatever capacity will improve the "authoritativeness" of the site. For example, SEOMoz uses Page Authority & Domain Authority to measure this.

Since this is not an official Google metric, the case will be that if you have two identical websites, the first one has 10 nofollow links and the second site has none, Google will think that the first site has more authority or trust and the first site will be the favourite one. Google loves promoting.

Don't Create All Dofollow Backlinks Because Google Consider Nofollow Backlinks 60-40% Avarage.

Even though, it's a good practice to use Nofollow link attribute to those link, where you don't want to pass link-juice. Dofollow links allow google (all search engines) to follow them and reach our website. ... If a webmaster is linking back to you with this link both Search Engine and Humans will be able to follow you.
