Cloud computing is a impressive name for software and/or hardware that is available via the Internet.
Colocation is high-tech real estate, or outsourced data center space, where you can run your company-owned software and hardware.

Cloud is IAAS, infrastructure as a service. You rent shared space on virtual machines running inside a colocation center.
