You can get traffic by posting on relevant blogs, forums, creating unique articles. Social media sites also drive traffic but it needs regular update of your posts and content.

Many blogs with high PR offer you to leave a comment bellow, where you can add your backlink. Make sure it is a quality comment or you will get deleted as spam though.

Try blogging & leave a comment on relevant blog to increase your website traffic. You can also edit the old blog make some modification in it & post it again. Also track this traffic using analytics to better understand your website performance. I used Gostats.
