Keyword density is the measure of the number of times a keyword is repeated in a particular article in ratio with the number of word count of that article. It should be maintained between 2 to 3 percent for maximum benefit in search engines.

Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword or phrase appears on a web page compared to the total number of words on the page. In the context of search engine optimization keyword density can be used as a factor in determining whether a web page is relevant to a specified keyword or keyword phrase.

Keyword density is that search engines use this information to categorize a site's theme and to determine which terms the site is relevant to. The perfect keyword density will help achieve higher search engine positions. Keyword density needs to be balanced correctly.

Density is not a big factor now a days.In older times search engine use to consider this factor while ranking but they were easily cheated.Density means the number of times a keyword appear on a page but this factor has no link with the quality of the page so now a days this has become meaning less.
