in dofollow we allow bot and crawler to follow url and link and in nofollow we restrict bot and crawler to follow particular link for eg.

in above code we are just telling crawler to do not follow this url.

Dofollow links will be crawled by search engines and will be calculated as a backlink for the website.
Nofollow links will not be crawled by search engines but can help to boost the traffic to the website.

Nofollow links do not allow search engine bots to follow link. If the website owner links to your site with nofollow attributes, it does not pass on link juice.
But both dofollow links and nofollow links are important as:
dofollow links gets high ranking to your site.
nofollow links gets traffic to your site.

Google use Dofollow backlink for crawling our web page and Bing or Yahoo use Nofollow backlink to crawling web page. So both are important and it's make website seo better.

When Google bots are crawling a website they look for external links point to other websites. If this links is “do follow” then search engines will follows the link and so link juice gets passed. If a search engine finds a “no follow” backlink it will just ignore the link and will not get deeper into crawling and no link juice is passed.

A dofollow link will pass the SEO strength, or "PageRank" of the page to the site that it links to. A nofollow link, in theory, will not do this. That's the main difference between the two.

A Do Follow link is important in creating an outbound link to the site which can be indexed by the search engine bots that are constantly crawling the internet looking for content to index upward.
