you are right pankaj but i think article submission also play an important role in increasing the traffic

To be frank traffic depends on what category your website is . If its a general day to day commodity website or gadget website then you will find no problem with traffic , similarly if you deal with industrial goods or something that's not directly related to general public then you will find hard time to attract traffic .Anyway there are many ways to get traffic such as :
Facebook Google+ (& all social media site )
blog writing
Guest blogging
Forum posting
Paid Google ads etc .
