I agree with you, basically social media like facebook, twitter, linkedin., etc helps in icreasing the website traffic also some other ways to improve your website traffic and rank. In blogging, Article submission,yahoo answers etc leads to provide a good backlink and boost your website traffice, but note that the contents in it all should not be duplicate.
