Is creating signature post a way to promote links?

Please reply me with your own opinion.

Sometimes Yes, signature post is considered as promoting, if the user is replying for your questions and in midst of the reply, he enter something to promote or ask you to click the given link, then it is promotion, and many times it is just a Signature and the area to which the user want to give proper importance or credit for the post.

Signature is your personal section and you can add your web links, but you have to also reply on the question in a correct manner.

Yes its a good way to create quality backlink structure but you need to remember two things:
1. Forum is related to your website
2. The signture links does not have "nofollow" attribute tags

Yes, signatures counts as baclinks, but ONLY if the forum allow it to be dofollow links instead of nofollow links. Nofollow links are ignore by the search engine so it's not too useful. People can still see and click it though, so it's not ENTIRELY useless.

Yes, the signature post is used to promote the website in search engine. It is a discussion section, while replying to that discussion, you can add signature to tell about your website in that section.
