Google keeps on altering the algorithm for the sake of people who are looking for the real content that they are looking for. So we as site owners, web designers, web developers or even seo gurus will have to get used to the new trends. I know some sites did get affected very badly due to change in google algorithms but google is the boss so has to obey on what is being done by them..

Promote your website on high PR website, to get quality backlinks
do all activities like forum posting, bookmarking, blog etc.

For increasing rank on Google, you should do on page and off page seo for your site. On page seo need mostly one time effort..but off page seo should be done regularly. You can create back link as off page seo by forum posting as you are doing, commenting on High pr blogs, social bookmarking, directory submission, and also be active on your social media fan page...

To increase your website rank you have to do the regular and efficient SEO work for your website. Like Directory submission, Social book marking, Article posting, Blogs, Press release, Web 2.0, forum posting.

All users give good suggestion but I am also want to give one suggestion spread out you social network like add related group in Facebook and Linkedin because now mostly people us linkedin so if you want traffic and ranking so share your links in groups.
