Does Google devalue links decorated and hidden as text? - Site Owners Forums

I've seen a lot of link the hidden text links. I want to do this, so that people will not click on the links, but still to SEO's value. This is targeted at Google terms of service, or is it something, I should try to imitate, for more and more people are willing to link to me, if not spend their traffic.

This technique does work, but it is very easy to spot and eventually Google will penalise some/all of the the sites involved. Might take 3 months to a year for Google to act, but trust me when I say they will eventually act and there�s a damn good chance when caught your site will never recover.
