Google trends is a very useful platform for the digital marketers especially those in SEO domain, as it provides a big amount of data based on search queries done over a period of time. These data can be wisely converted into marketing activities. I often use this tool while researching for keywords.

Otherwise, google trends is more of a "what's trending" knowing tool for laymen.
