One of the main reasons why people fail to make any dough online is because they run around in circles chasing down the next shiny object rather than concentrating on just 1 or 2 things and then becoming really good at them.

There are scores of methods to make cash on the internet, like running a blog, SEO, email marketing, article marketing etc and they all work. But they all take effort. Many newbies might go and create two to three articles, submit them to a number of directories, make no money and then go around saying that internet marketing doesn't work.

The key is to decide on one topic of Internet marketing that excites you the most and then get exceptional at it because the more you love something, the much more likely you are to study more and attain mastery over that area.
