Backlinks are also known as inbound or incoming links, and they are links to your website from another place on the Internet. Any link that links from another website to your website is a backlink.
There are 2 types of backlinks: dofollow and nofollow. Dofollow links have more value in SEO. But while building backlinks, you should keep a balanced ratio of dofollow and nofollow backlinks or Google will ban your website if they discover all the backlinks you built are dofollow ones.
