I worked at an auto repair shop during the summers when I was in college. And the shop I worked at, mostly worked on European cars so mostly Mercedes and BMW's. And we saw a couple ford truck parts once in awhile, but depending on the part, if you live in America the prices may be a little higher for BMW parts. But they will typically last longer and are higher quality and it is very important to get a mechanic that works on European cars and won't rip you off! I hope i helped!
