Google grew to be the leader in the search engine industry for many years to come. The vast majority of major players from the past such as Yahoo and Altavista remain active, but only share an extremely limited percentage of the end-users they once had. In recent years, Google has seen competition from Micrsoft’s new engine, Bing, and ostensibly managed to start to self-destruct with the Panda and Penguin updates that have left their search engine crippled in terms of the quality results that it was once able to deliver.
