Moz API Showing Some Backlinks That don't Exist!

Hi Everyone,

Recently I got a backlink report from our SEO guy for our domain. I have checked those links and in some links I didn't find any backlinks pointing to our sites. I asked him (SEO guy) about this and he said he took all the info from Moz API. Is he telling the truth? I have heard about Moz. Is their backlinks checker API good?
