SEO is search engine optimization if you will get enough traffic from SEO then it is ok, but if you also want a good ranking on Google then it is good to use social media optimization it will helpful for making your website popular. We use various social networking sites in SMO. And social networking sites have a very good terms with google.

Its depends upon you that what do you want because SEO and SMO both are different. SEO gives you Promotion whereas SMO gives you Reputation.

SMO is social media optimization. It helps a website to rank on search engine because google crawl every post from social networking sites. So if you have already done SEO then you can also do SMO for your website to get more traffic.
