I'm Christine Blythe, author, owner and operator of three blogs and I'm trying to get a grasp on the murky world of just what are considered to be legal vs. illegal tactics for backlinks.

I recently purchased what was stated to be legal software for autoposting to social media sites, but on my first attempt I noticed a lot of posts on each social media site at once. It appears each of the social media sites was posting to each of the other social media sites in turn, creating a sort of avalanche of posts.

Are my suspicions correct, and this is not considered to be white hat?
