Sitemap are of 2 types or we can say with 2 extensions.
1. Sitemap.html: Used by Both User and Search Engine, though it is more interactive as user point of view to navigate the whole website easily. 2. Sitemap.xml: it is for Google Bots, as Bots read text more easily and efficiently than anything else on a website or webpage, sitemap is to inform Search Engine bots that there is something new is added, which allow the to craw the webpage.
