Penguin
Google announced penguin as very important change in their algorithm to target web spam, so it is an update by Google to mainly target those who are trying to manipulating their rank in SERP by doing bad tactics. For example, if a website has many bad links that are coming from bad websites, it will look at its link profile and penalizes it for doing spam over internet. IF you want to avoid this penalty then you should try to make your link profile natural instead of getting thousand of link from bad domains. for more information about how you can recover from penguin.
