The linkability of niche websites is often bigger than more generic sites. Other websites in the same industry might not link to competing website with too much overlap, but a niche site might just complement their service and information.

Domain name is not only important for SEO. need more than it.

Domain keyword is important but that keyword should not for than 7-8 characters.
Do not use dash and numbers in the domain.

google doesn't like domain specific advertising I've noticed.

most of people are using domain for placing google adsense.

It has been taken off in the latest penguin updates. but still has effect in seo.

your domain should same as your keyword, you can buy domain at namecheap or goddady

You can say that .com may be best for commercial websites , .net have more or less same preference. i think url name are more important than domain names.
