It is right social networking sites, like, Facebook, G+, twitter and linkdin etc are very beneficial for SEO and business. But if you just doing a work of backlinks in these site so there is no benefit because this all sites are no-follows. So make a good profile on these site and start up data and keep going with that. This really help you in your business leads and generate traffic.
