actually PHP doesn't use DIV, HTML does..
div is widely used because it is a flexible html tag, where you can add some styles easily. compared to other tags it has no default styles not like <p> that has default margins. Read more: http://www.webmastertalkforums.com/p...#ixzz1riaeKlfW
