Keywords in top 5 position?

Hello Friends,
I have been working on one of the SEO project from past few months and by working consistently on this I had achieved my first target that is to bring all the keywords on top ten position but now I am focusing to bring these in top 5 position and some of the techniques which I am using are directory submission, social bookmarking, forum posting, blogging, article submission etc., Still by using all these techniques the keywords are not yet stable on their position for example one of the keyword was on position 4 and now it has dropped down to position 7. Please suggest some techniques which can be helpful to bring all the keywords in top 5 positions and make them stable.

You should work hard to get your all keywords on top five, you have to continue doing all activities which you are doing now as well as start some new effective activities like link wheels, post unique and informative content with proper keyword density and also with link of your website on target keyword. Consistently doing quality activities will help you to get better ranking as well as you have to be in patient to get good results.

Beside Link Building, use fresh content on website, improve social networking etc.
Competitive analysis is also useful to overrate your competitor.

I think this is as usual case in SEO.To get keywords in first page or second page is easy but to get keywords in first five is really difficult task and need to implement very hard work or quality work than all competitor.So now you should implement some tricky seo work.You can do some updates with your website content.Try to find so high PR ,do follow and relevant backlinks.

You see, it�s very difficult (impossible in fact) to stick to a SERP ranking. Rejiggering in search results (as a result of rigorous optimization by your competitors) makes it really hard for webmasters to stay glued to a high SERP position.

You must, however, keep working on on-page and off-page optimization techniques consistently and religiously to avoid steep falls. If you are promoting in niche related forums, communities, directories et al, it should help...

its not very difficult to get in top 5,But in this case there are necassary lot of things

2-competition
3-patient

You've got your act pretty much together. You have been doing right by SEO techniques until now. So now to reach top 5 just consistently apply those SEO techniques, perhaps add some newer techniques to your daily activities and most certainly (like petguru advises) stay PATIENT & Ill also add DON'T GIVE UP!!!

If you want keywords in top 5 first find related and less competitive keywords and then optimize it but it takes some time so be patience and work regularly.

If you are website on the first page for the particular keyword, than you have to do competition analysis to up it's ranking.
