problem with preg_replace()

Hey, got myself a problem with getting preg_replace() to work correctly. I have set up some pattern arrays and replacements arrays, the code seem to work, but everything echo'ed after the preg_replace echo isnt beeing outputted. that also includes text after the replaced string. heres an example of how i have done it:

is there something in this code preventing me from outputting "bombombom" and $examplevariable3? should i be using this in the insert section of this script instead?

any help would be appreaciated
