Well SEO can be divided into 2 parts, 1- On page SEO & 2- Off page SEO. So for good results you must effectively ensure both are adopted on your site. On page SEO refers to keyword optimization, meta data, unique and relevant content and compliant with W3C and more. While Off page refers to blog and forum posting, article and PR submissions, social bookmarking and social media.
