both directory submission and bookmarking are still very valuable and you can get lots of website traffic through these SEO techniques!

Yes it is still valuable but you have to watch the quality with both, especially directories. With directories you have to treat them the same as any other backlink. It needs to be high quality with good domain/page authority with active traffic and members.
