It will take some time for your website to rank but before that you need to do lot of tedious work which can be better done by SEO professionals. I would suggest you to hire some SEO guys and do that for you because it will become difficult for you to handle it all alone. As you told before that you do'nt have much budget but for results you need to spend money.

You can use google trends to predict spikes and slumps as well as to know when you should update and change pages for the season or switch to using different keywords.
Target niche keywords with low competition.
Try to offer valuable information or tools so that other people are motivated to link to your site. This will increase the chances of natural backlinks.
