Alt text strengthens the message towards search engine spiders and improves the accessibility of your website.Each image should have an alt text. Not just for SEO purposes but also because blind and visually impaired people otherwise won’t know what the image is for.

It helps search engines understand what an image is about. Alternate text is also very helpful in case images on a page cannot be found. Image title is another attribute that can be added to the image tag in HTML. It is used to provide a title for your image.

ALT Text is an On-Page SEO element. It defines the content of the image as search engine can't read the image.

The required alt attribute specifies an alternate text for an image, if the image cannot be displayed. The alt attribute provides alternative information for an image if a user for some reason cannot view it (because of slow connection, an error in the src attribute, or if the user uses a screen reader).

Alt text was put for sreen readers
Alt text allowed 3 things to happen
Gave google some information about your image in the form of keywords It can be read by a screen reader if the image can not be seen. This is used by blind people alot. It can also show what the image was if it crashes or fails to open - something is better than nothing right A good web development company will use ALT text in images from day 1.
