I would say Content and SEO go hand in hand. If you are new to SEO then,

1. Do proper keyword research and find super long tail keywords. Go for keywords with more than 4, 5 or even 6 word length. Longer better.

2. Look for the authority of sites ranking on first page of google. If the entire space is crowded with high domain authority then you can't outrank them unless you have very good backlinks. Otherwise go for it.

3. Write great content with images, videos and references.

4. Do proper on-page seo for your blog post. (There are tons of articles out there on this topic if you google)

5. Publish and promote the posts on social media and on blogging communities.

6. But in the mean time learn proper off-page seo and try to gain real good backlinks from sites on your niche.

Keep on learning and practice what you learn.
