Latent semantic index is basically some kind of sense that search engine develop after processing your query.suppose if you search for nature images in google it would automatically fetch result for you that contains nature images as well as nature photos, nature pictures, nature wallpapers. And believe me that latent semantic keywords work like a charm for seo people.hope i have explained it right.

Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) is a system used by Google and other major search engines (Update: read here, thanks for the Tweets, guys) The contents of a webpage are crawled by a search engine and the most common words and phrases are collated and identified as the keywords for the page. LSI looks for synonyms related to the title of your page. For example, if the title of your page was “Classic Cars”, the search engine would expect to find words relating to that subject in the content of the page as well, i.e. “collectors”, “automobile”, “Bentley”, “Austin” and “car auctions”.

(LSI) is the process of integrating or embedding thousands of transistors on a single silicon semiconductor microchip. LSI technology was conceived in the mid-1970s when computer processor microchips were under development.

LSI stands for Latent Semantic Indexing. Latent Semantic Indexing keywords can make your content look more natural to search engines and users. Instead of using the exact phrase repeatedly throughout your text, you can use synonyms and other terms that are related to your content and have the same meaning with your target key phrase.

This concept of Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) helps us to write the website content and link building and is a system used by Google and other major search engines. The contents of a webpage are crawled by a search engine and the most common words and phrases are collated and identified as the keywords for the page.
Latent Semantic Indexing is not rocket science, it is simple common sense. Here are some simple guidelines: If your page title is Learn to Play Tennis, make sure your article is about tennis. Do not overuse your keywords in the content. It could look like keyword stuffing and the search engines may red flag you. Never use Article Spinning Software – it spits out unreadable garble. If you outsource your content, choose a quality source. Check Google Webmaster Tools and see what keywords your pages are ranking for.
