There are several key point difference:
1. Mobile search may display more local result because they assume you're travelling in search of the things you typed in Google search. 2. Rankings for some websites are different, because Google change its priority in searching for compatible website when in mobile search. There are others, but those two are what I feel most relevant with your question.
